Comparing Two Kolbe A™ Index Results

You can become more productive, less stressed, and better equipped to live your life to the fullest with the Kolbe A Index– all thanks to a deeper understanding of your natural strengths.

Sounds pretty great, right?

According to Eric Herrera, VP of Sales at Kolbe Corp, you don’t know the half of it.
“Understand all of those around you in your world, and your world will become that much better,” Eric opines. “And you’ll become that much more productive.”

The Kolbe Comparisons: A to A™ is your communications guide to help you deliver impactful messages to others. This report allows you to take two Kolbe A results and determine the best ways to optimize how two people work together.  Once potential conative conflict levels (different ways of taking action) are identified, you can avoid wasting time and energy with disagreements, communication issues, and redundant work efforts.

The purpose of running a comparison report is to help us understand our and other people's strengths. It is particularly beneficial in the workplace, where people with different approaches to working have to collaborate.

Stephanie Clergé, VP of Training and Consulting at Kolbe Corp

Just because two people have different numbers (conative conflict), that doesn’t mean they can’t get along or don’t like each other. Different results just mean they take action in different ways. Once you’re both aware of that reality, big problems can quickly become an opportunity for talent optimization.

“If you can just let people know that it’s just a difference in how two people naturally do things, that honestly bridges most of the gap.” Eric adds. “And then you can share some tips and tricks included in the report to help close the remainder of that small piece of the gap.”

Sometimes, you’ll find that coworkers instinctively operate in ways very similar to you. This doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll always work best together.

Take Fact Finder, one of the one of the four Kolbe Action Modes®. Stephanie Clergé, VP of Training and Consulting at Kolbe Corp, points out that “just because you’ve got two folks who both need the specifics, doesn’t mean that they need the same specifics or that they want to get it from the same sources. Same thing with Follow Thru. Just because you’re with someone who needs a lot of structure and naturally plans, doesn’t mean that you’re going to have the same plan that they have or need the same types of structure.”

Whether your numbers line up exactly with a coworker or the two of you are totally conative opposites, the key to a strong working relationship lies in a better understanding of each other’s instinctive strengths. Compare your strengths with key coworkers and, voilà, you’re looking at a better world around you, one relationship at a time.
